Is the baby shower an invitation to only women? or should the men be invited too?

This will depend on the mother-to-be. Traditionally baby showers has only been the women there. However, the mother-to-be may prefer to have her own husband there to enjoy the baby shower. She may also want to share this occasion with her very close friends with a several other couples, so a couple baby shower would certainly be a great and a fun idea!
